About The Houston Rundown |
Who we are and how we check everything we publish. |
The Houston Rundown is a free newsletter and website for Houston: where to eat, what's happening this weekend, and the local news worth knowing.
It's published by Reyes Castillo Jr. of San Benito, Texas, who also publishes The 956 Rundown in the Rio Grande Valley. Reyes signs every issue himself.
What you get The newsletter arrives Tuesday and Thursday mornings, and new articles and events go up on the site. We're just getting started, so the first issues are still on the way. Subscribe now and they'll land in your inbox when they go out.
How we check what we publish Every address, phone number, date, time and price comes from a source we can name: the business's or organizer's own website, its Google business profile, or a public record like a Texas state license. When we can't confirm a detail, we say so in plain words, like "date not yet confirmed." Hours appear only where a business publishes them.
Partners and ads When a business pays to be featured, we label it "From our partner." Being featured is not a guarantee of a business's products or services. We never sell our readers' email addresses.
Corrections If we get something wrong, we fix it and add a dated note at the bottom of the page, like "Corrected Oct. 8: the start time is 10 a.m." We don't change things quietly. To report a mistake, reply to any issue of the newsletter and it reaches Reyes.
